Cloud solution increases plant availability

Jon Lawson

Electric actuator manufacturer AUMA has expanded its digital services portfolio. The new AUMA Cloud provides a free and secure solution for cost-effective asset management and condition-based predictive maintenance, promoting high plant availability.

The AUMA Cloud is an easy-to-use interactive platform to collect and assess detailed device information on all the AUMA actuators in a plant. Maintenance can be planned on the basis of actual operating conditions instead of fixed intervals, helping to reduce maintenance downtime and cost.

In a process plant, the actuators provide crucial valve automation at many different points. Equipped with comprehensive data logging facilities they automatically store a wide variety of operating data, including number of starts, temperatures, vibration, torques, warning signals, and faults. The new cloud solution analyses the data and presents the results clearly. Plant owners and operators thus take full advantage of this information to assess the loads the actuators and their related valves have experienced over their lifetimes.

If more detailed analysis is required, it is quick and easy to send actuator data from the cloud to AUMA Service. This facilitates remote diagnostics while reducing costs for on-site service and speeding up repairs.

As a web application the AUMA Cloud works with any common browser.
