NLMK Europe - Plate gathers under one name three specialists: NLMK Clabecq (Belgium), NLMK Verona (Italy) and NLMK DanSteel (Denmark), using technologically advanced production methods. From medium and heavy plates – hot rolled or forged – to ingots, you can rely on a complete range of steels in all grades and dimensions.

NLMK Clabecq is specialized in thin plates. The plant offers a product that is renowned for its superior surface aspect, its flatness and its tight thickness tolerances. This is the result of impressive expertise combined with unique production equipment, including the reversible quarto mill and the continuous finishing mill with 4 independent stands on the same line.

Thanks to investments, including an accelerated cooling system and a quenching and tempering unit (Q&T), NLMK Clabecq is well established as a key player in the niche markets of line pipes and abrasion resistant steels with its brand Quard®. Quard plates are supplied among other sectors to companies that extract ore, coal and experience tough wear conditions. Quard plates ensure ultra-high resistance to abrasion and are used for the manufacturing and repair of mining machinery and equipment such as dump truck bodies and excavator buckets. Those special steels are delivered with hardness of 400, 450 and 500 HB, with thicknesses ranging from 3.2 mm to 64 mm and widths from 1,500 to 3,100 mm.
