Skid mounted reactor performs multi-step synthesis within small

Paul Boughton

The systems are compact and skid-mounted, capable of handling multiple
processes at the same time within a small footprint. Components of each
system can be combined to perform different reactions using other materials.

A typical system includes storage vessels, reactor, mixer, feed hopper,
condenser, vacuum system, absorption column, filter assembly and other
components as required. During the mixing stage, solids can be added through
the vibrating feed hopper system.

The solvent manifold uses a spray ball to meter in the solvent. Multiple
solvents can be manually selected at any given time. Once mixing is
complete, the jacketed reactor evaporates the solvent using low pressure
vacuum condensation.

Load cells accurately measure the amount of material added at any given
time. This data can be captured and trended from a local or remote location
using the self-contained control-panel.

The reactor systems are available in capacities from one to 500 gallons.
Each system can be custom-engineered for a range of specific applications,
including pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, cosmeceutical, nutraceutical,
and food ingredient.
