Rugged mobile computing specialist Mobexx has introduced a new slimline 10-inch MIL-STD-810G, IP-65 tested Windows 8.1 Professional tablet PC.

The Xplore Bobcat has front and back facing cameras, is powered by a powerful, energy efficient 1.9 GHz quad-core processor (Intel Bay Trail E3845), sports a rugged, backlit IPS LCD screens and is available with range of connectivity and data capture options.

The ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 certified Xplore Bobcat pushes the boundaries in tablet PC design, features and functionality for explosive atmospheres and hazardous environments such as oil, gas and petrochemical production, mining, paint and food manufacturing.

Product highlights include comprehensive standard input and output features (RS 232, RJ45, two full size USB 3.0 ports, and micro SD and SIM slots – option to use 4G LTE for fast mobile communications), WiFi, Bluetooth and optional 1D and 2D barcode scanners, and options to add an access card reader, fingerprint scanner and NFC (near field communications).

Equipped with a 128 GB solid state drive (SSD) for secure storage of applications and data with fast boot up, the Bobcat’s storage can be upgraded to 256 GB – again using a SSD (and further expanded up to 128GB using the micro SDXC slot).

The outdoor viewable multi-touch display adapts to inside and outside use instantly so that walking in and out of the shade of buildings and plant does not affect visibility of the screen. Carrying straps, handles and mobile docking station options are available too.
