Product lifecycle management expert, Design Rule will host an online webinar that explores how companies can integrate product data management (PDM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) across the enterprise, using the SOLIDWORKS Connector within Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform. PDM systems manage CAD data and related documentation, allowing product designers to open CAD models, manage design iterations and control access rights. PLM systems go further by managing all product-related data and information, including CAD data, through a single enterprise view. Securing all product data in one location provides a single source of truth for the enterprise, allowing users to manage processes better, generate reports and reinforce compliance to regulations and standards.
The SOLIDWORKS Connector on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, gives authorised users access to design data, while designers continue to work within their familiar SOLIDWORKS interface. Designers do not lose productivity typically associated with the introduction of PLM, because the connector ensures that only the familiar PDM functions are presented in SOLIDWORKS.
