Non-contact turbidity monitor auto adjusts

Paul Boughton

A maintenance-free turbidity monitor is still the dream of many water treatment operators. Using non-contact measurement in a free-falling water jet and an automatic adjustment to recalibrate is getting very close to this demand.

And now Sigrist has launched its AquaScat family onto the market. The flagship model of the range is the AquaScat WTM which has a measuring span of 0 to 4000FNUa resolution of 0.001FNUnon-contact measurement and automatic adjustment on demand. In additionthe HT version has a

non-contact setup.

With a reduced resolution of 0.1FNU and the same spanit is primarily for higher turbidity and for use infor exampleraw water or industrial wastewater work.

The AquaScat P has a closed flow cell for measurement under pressure. This version has advantages for samples with high gas content or to optimise the sample flow.

With thisthe AquaScat can cover all applications in potable water treatment form really dirty river water with more than 2000FNU down to best filtrated pure water with 0.015FNU. The AquaScat can also be used in industrial wastewater applications.

The instrument comes with an integrated keypadcurrent outputtwo relay contacts and an optional Profibus DP interface.

Applications include: filtration process (filtration monitoring); production processes (turbidity in process water); steam boilers (turbidity in feeder water); water treatment (turbidity after filtration and final control/turbidity in water).
