The EGLI retracting cable reels for electrostatic earthing are the first that have been approved for the Ex-zone II, Categories 3G and 3D.

The ATEX directive 94/9 EG (ATEX 95) by the European parliament, effective since the 1st of July 2003, describes the minimum regulations to improve health protection and safety of the employees who are endangered by explosive atmospheres.
Safety hazards are, amongst others, loading and unloading of silo- and tank-lorries, transfilling of chemical products and powdery substances, as well as various tasks in industrial facilities. Special diligence is appropriate here where persons and equipment are directly endangered.
