Wireless test equipment consolidation

25th August 2015

Electro-Rent has opened its first UK office to supply leading edge wireless test equipment on a rental or hire purchase basis. With competitor Microlease taking over Livingston, there is a key opportunity in the UK, says David Saeys, Managing Director for Electro Rent Europe.

“The use of wireless technologies in everything from Industry 4.0 to the Internet of Things is putting pressure not only on design teams but OEMs to meet time-to-market and BoM cost pressures,” said Saeys. “The solutions are out there, but finding them and accessing them isn’t always a simple task. Our expertise in leasing and renting T&M equipment to meet OEMs’ specific and often unique requirements will be on hand to attendees throughout the exhibition.”

The company is one of the world’s largest providers of electronic test equipment for rent, lease or used sales and has been operating successfully in the UK for 10 years supplying test systems from Keysight and Tektronix.

The new UK office will allow Electro Rent Europe to support current customers with better local service and drive future expansion in the region. The office will be staffed by local Electro Rent employees and will offer technical sales and support services, provide on-site training and seminars and hold local inventory for rapid delivery of critical items.

“Our commitment to open an office in the UK was mainly driven by our success over the last 10 years,” said Saeys. “Establishing a local presence is a logical next step to building on this success and will enable us to provide a true local service to our existing and future customers. Over the past few months we have also seen some significant changes in the UK test equipment rental market. With the fusion of our two largest competitors, customers do no longer have the true opportunity to compare competitive offers. By extending our commitment to the UK with a new office, we are giving real choice back to the market, offering the broadest range of test equipment for rent, lease or purchase in the UK.”
