Wind turbine towers delivered

Mabey Bridge, the South Wales-based supplier of wind turbine towers, has made the final delivery for the 37MW Clashindarroch Wind Farm in Scotland ahead of schedule. The towers will be installed as part of 18 Senvion MM82 turbines, generating enough clean energy to power over 22,000 homes. The news follows the announcement in May that Mabey Bridge completed the delivery of 14 wind turbine towers for Senvion at Goole Fields Wind Farm in East Riding, Yorkshire.

Planning permission for the Clashindarroch Wind Farm was granted in December 2010 by Aberdeenshire Council, with preliminary construction work beginning in June 2013. The wind farm is expected to be completed by March 2015.

Mark Coia, managing director of Mabey Bridge Energy & Marine commented: “We are delighted to deliver our turbine towers to Clashindarroch ahead of schedule to help ensure the wind farm is operational as soon as possible. As a British manufacturer we have worked closely with Vattenfall and Senvion to increase UK content in the wind farm and look forward to working in partnership on similar projects well into the future.”

Raymond Gilfedder, managing director of Senvion UK added: "The MM82 machine is a key model for us, with over 300 installed in the UK alone and this positive progress for Clashindarroch Wind Farm clearly demonstrates the ongoing successful relationship between Senvion and Mabey Bridge.”
