Tioga Limited, founded in 1996, has developed into one of the UK’s leading Contract Electronic Manufacturers, offering a broad spectrum of electronic assembly, from prototyping to complete product manufacturer and full ‘turn-key’ solutions in small to medium volume quantities, providing wide-ranging expertise and exceptional world class service to ourcustomers.

The heart of Tioga is its manufacturing facility based in Derby, right in the centre of the UK in an old listed railway building. This site has been custom converted into an extensive and sophisticated electronic assembly plant, now covering 47,000 sq ft and utilising State of the Art equipment. After £2m investment, securing the full site and purchase of the building in March 2014, Tioga has gone from strength to strength; year on year turnover has increased from £6m in 2013 to £15m in 2016/17, a growth of £4m in the last 12 months.

The Senior Management team at Tioga are dedicated to reinvestment into the business and this has been a major contributing factor in the growth that has been realised. New machinery has been purchased to upgrade and replace the equipment, when needed. The Management Team recognised that an ERP system was needed by the business to increase efficiencies and Microsoft NAVISION was implemented from 2014. To further support the ERP system, Tioga invested heavily once again in 2016 to buy a Manufacturing software system named AEGIS. This system has improved visibility, control and speed throughout operations and has been inter linked with the ERP to provide full reporting and KPI’s. The most recent acquisitions include; a HR system and a QA system. Both systems support the ongoing strategic plans of the Senior Team to automate processes and drive improvements throughout the business by technological advancements in software and business process design.

Tioga covers all areas of electronic and electrical assemblies, manufactured to high quality standards. In 1999, Tioga first received approval to the internationally respected ISO 9001 standard and has recently obtained upgrade to the 2015 version. At the start of 2016, the Medical standard, ISO 13485:2016, was added to the portfolio of quality approvals following an increase in demand for Medical devices being manufacture. Additional to the quality approvals, Tioga’s manufacturing complies with IPC-A-160 Rev F, Class 3 and IPC 7711/7721 which is the industry standard. ‘The Tioga Academy’ project was started 12 months ago to support this accreditation working with an in-house trainer to develop operator skills. At Tioga, the primary focus is on front end engineering and producing quality documents for our production processes, this ensures that we produce high quality assemblies with zero defects.

Tioga has continued to attract market leading, high expectation customers, with a requirement to out-source either all, or a significant part of their product manufacturing requirements. Our core competencies far exceed just manufacturing, as we typically provide total product management solutions to organisations. This encompasses design, engineering support, global procurement and supply chain management, manufacturing, test, configuration, warehousing and distribution. In short, we can take on board the management of customer’s products in their entirety, from initial design for manufacture requirements,through to ongoing manufacturing and delivery of configured product to the end user.

Continued growth is planned targeting Aerospace, Medical and high end complex assemblies. After our continued investment in new equipment and skills, Tioga recognises the need to move forwards with solid customer partnerships and continue to provide an excellent, quality service. The results of Tioga’s Customer Satisfaction Surveys show that Tioga successfully build and maintain a professional friendly approach and focus on long term relationships built on reliability and trust.
