TestWorks Group has developed and supplied a functional test solution to a major multinational communications and defence corporation. The solution, which functionally tests a PCB assembly, replaced an obsolete system which had become unreliable and difficult to support.
Due to the specialised nature of the product being tested, TestWorks reused some of the original test code and incorporated it within a LabVIEW ‘wrapper’, and also developed a custom emulator PCB for use in the test fixture. Most of the elements of the new system are industry-standard and therefore easily supportable in future. The fixture is connected to the system by a cable harness, allowing additional fixtures to be added for further products. For higher volume requirements, this cable can be replaced with one of several industry-standard fixture interfaces.
