New addition to motor range

The Kollmorgen AKMH range of stainless steel servo motors has been enhanced with a host of new feedback device options and new connector options. Available in the UK from Inmoco, these hygienic, CIP- (clean-in-place) compatible motors now offer even greater integration opportunities, enabling the most demanding hygienic applications to benefit from the same performance options as standard automation applications.

The inclusion of new resolver, comcoder (2048ppr), hyperface (SKx36 and SRx50) and EnDat 2.1(optical and inductive) feedback options provides compatibility with the widest possible range of drive systems. This enables precision positioning as well as simplifying set-up and tuning.

The connection options have also been enhanced, while maintaining the stringent requirements for use in hygienic applications. New flying lead and connectorised versions are available, along with IP69K and IP67 vented cable-mounted connectors, and IP69K cable and tubing versions.

The original AKMH motors were available only with a single cable for both data and power. The updated motors now also offer two-cable versions, which allows them to be used with a wide range of servo drives without impacting on the rated data (torque, speed, current, etc) performance and maintaining the hygienic protection. The AKMH has also been enhanced with the availability of an integrated brake. Even with the brake option, the IP69K protection is maintained.

Kollmorgen AKMH stainless steel servo motors are designed for quick and easy CIP for reduced washdown times and therefore improved productivity. The smooth lines of the design means there are no rough areas, crevices or corners where dirt or debris could collect, making the motors suitable for use in the most hygienically sensitive of applications, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and medical.
