MESYS AG in Zurich (Switzerland) develops software for technical calculations in mechanical engineering. The main products are a fully coupled shaft system calculation and a rolling bearing and ball screw calculation software. Currently the software is used by customers in 25 countries on 4 continents.
The bearing analysis software allows the calculation of the load distribution within the bearing and bearing life according ISO/TS 16281. Centrifugal forces and gyroscopic moments can be considered for high speed ball bearings. Profiles for rollers and races can be defined by the user. Parameter variations can be used to create diagrams showing the influence of selected parameters.
The shaft system calculation allows the definition of shaft systems coupled by bears, belts or bearings and is considering nonlinear bearing stiffness. Housings or planet-carriers can be considered as FEA-based 3D-elastic parts. They can be imported as CAD-file and are meshed and reduced within the software. No external FEA-software is required for this. Elastic deformations of bearing rings or gear-bodies can be taken into account too.
Natural frequencies and harmonic response can be calculated for the coupled system. Dynamic forces and amplitudes are shown as results of harmonic response to harmonic excitations. The mode shapes can be shown as 3D animation. The shaft strength can be evaluated according to DIN 743 and several interfaces to gear calculation programs are available.
