Low-profile railway inverters deliver 3-phase pure sine wave output voltage

ABSOPULSE Electronics’ CTP-300R-F7 Series is the latest addition to its line of 3-phase sine wave inverters designed for railway applications.

The 300VA units meet the stringent requirements of EN50155 for electronic equipment used on rolling stock. They deliver a 3-phase output of 208Vrms, line-to-line, at 60 or 400Hz. A 115Vrms phase-to-neutral output can also be used.

The inverters operate from wide EN50155 input ranges of 24Vdc (17-34V), 36Vdc (25-51V), 48Vdc (33-67V), 72Vdc (50-101V), 96Vdc (67-135V) or 110Vdc (77-154V).

A specially designed 3-phase controller module contributes to the reliable operation of the unit.

With new design topology and the use of microprocessor controlled high frequency PWM technology, the low profile units are more compact than previous 300VA versions and measure just 254 x 67 x 351mm. They are cooled by conduction via baseplate with additional cooling by natural convection through the cooling slots.

An industrial quality version of this design, the CTP-300-F7, is also available.
