Longwall system for coal mine

Polish manufacturer Famur is to deliver a complete longwall system to the Knurow-Szczyglowice coal mine, owned by Kompania Weglowa. Famur will also deliver 122 units of roof suport FRS-16/37 to Wujek coal mine, owned by Katowicki Holding Weglowy.

The delivery of a longwall system to Kompania Weglowa mine consists of:shearer FS 400; 167 powered roof support units FRS-19/45; AFC Nowomag PSZ-850; BSL Nowomag PPZ-850; a crawler; a crusher; automatic pump station;   electrical equipment; belt weigher.

The company has recently introduced Famur roof supports (FRS). The contract with Katowicki Holding Weglowy includes the FRS-16/37 (116 line units and six face end units) are compatible with AFC 750mm wide and with the longwall shearer with a drum web of 0.8m and Eicotrack haulage system.

The powered roof support is adjusted for operation in very hard geo-mining conditions and the scope of inclinations allowing for work is from ±15˚ at direction of face advancement and even up to 35˚ at direction of face conveyor transportation.

Two modern longwall systems for thin seams manufactured by Famur operate in mines owned by KHW.
