ELECMETAL (Chile), a metal parts manufacturer, has installed 60 SharpEye model 40/40L UV/IR optical flame detectors to protect its two new production facilities where high end alloy metals are produced for the aerospace and mining industries.
The chemical processes and power requirements to manufacture such high grade steel components create a variety of special fire hazards.
ELECMETAL and FITFLOW engineers selected Spectrex Inc’s SharpEye 40/40L after evaluating several detector designs and recognised the versatility of the unique 40/40L UV/IR detector, to meet their wide range of challenges.
Spectrex was first to incorporate the Xenon Flash in open path gas detectors to solve false alarm issues common in the industry.
