Fast removal of fasteners

Global water, energy and maintenance solutions provider NCH Europe has launched K Release NF, a non-flammable release agent aerosol for use in manufacturing, construction, marine, rail and mining applications.

The product meets the demands of industrial sectors where the buildup of flammable solvents and fumes would pose a risk.

K Release NF is designed for ease of application and convenience to the end user. The product offers fast and powerful penetration to deliver effective results on fasteners, even those that have become lodged in place due to dirt and corrosion. After application, the lubricant seeps fully into crevices in 5-30 seconds.

The aerosol canister itself has a spray-any-way valve so it can be sprayed at any angle, including upside down. This enables maintenance engineers to reach fasteners in difficult locations without sacrificing spray effectiveness.

“Fasteners such as screws, nuts and bolts are prone to damage that can create disassembly problems,” explained Mark Burnett, VP of the Lubricants and Fuel Additives Innovation Platform at NCH Europe. “Many of these fasteners are in hard to reach locations that most aerosol products cannot spray effectively. We’ve addressed this with the canister’s valve, to allow the aerosol to be sprayed from any angle or position for ease of use.

“Further problems come from traditional aerosol release agents being unsuitable for higher temperature environments such as mining sites, railroads and refineries. These are industries where the easy removal of fasteners is advantageous, but the use of flammable solvents and gases is highly hazardous.

“K Release NF tackles this problem with its non-flammable propellant and liquid penetrating agents, providing a powerful solution that is also safe for use.”

The product’s excellent lubrication comes from its composition, which is fortified with Moly. This reinforces the product’s temperature resistance as well as enhancing lubricity, making it better suited to delivering high performance in applications operating under extreme temperatures.

Additionally, it works to soften the corrosion that is frequent in high temperature environments.

Rust accumulates due to condensation and often fixes bolts and other fasteners in place, making them difficult to remove. In softening this, K Release NF reduces the need for more intensive removal equipment and makes the process easier and cheaper.
