Enabling Wi-Fi mobility for automated materials handling systems

Moxa recently unveiled the complete WLAN solutions for Automated Materials Handling (AMH) systems, which ensure reliable wireless connectivity for moving equipments in warehouse automation.

The AWK-A series comes with Turbo Roaming technology allows fast roaming under milliseconds, Dual Isolation design protects both power and antenna ports from electrical interference, and industrial-grade design like anti-vibration and wide operating temperatures for harsh warehouse environments.

According to the AMH market report from MarketsandMarkets, 30% of operating cost reduction can be expected when factory owners adopted AMH systems.

Among all the AMH systems, the Automated Storage and Retrieve Systems (AS/RS) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) systems are expected to grow at the highest rate over 25% of CAGR.

However, manufactories can only take advantage on this rapid growth market when reliable wireless solutions are deployed on their AS/RS and AGV systems.

To ensure wireless network availability inside warehouses, the AWK-A series also supports IEEE 802.11n standard with MIMO technology to enlarge wireless coverage and ensure sufficient bandwidth up to 300 Mbps throughputs.

Rugged IP68-rated housing (AWK-4131A only) and -40 to 75°C operating temperature are also provided for sub-zero warehouse environments.
