EdgeTech and Ocean Geophysics partner to advance seabed data processing

Ocean Geophysics, an offshore energy industry supplier, and EdgeTech, underwater technology solutions specialists, have partnered to provide advanced data processing software for EdgeTech's Enhanced Buried Scanning System (eBOSS)

Established as a non-exclusive partnership, the collaboration will integrate EdgeTech's hardware innovation with Ocean Geophysics' knowledge in geophysical data processing and interpretation, resulting in a software platform capable of processing, visualising, and reporting data the eBOSS system acquires.

The eBOSS system has been created to penetrate the seabed and deliver reliable results, providing users with the ability to detect, locate, classify, and identify buried and partially proud objects.

Alison Wells, CEO of Ocean Geophysics, said, “Our partnership with EdgeTech reflects our shared vision for advancing subsea survey capabilities. By developing software specifically tailored to the eBOSS, we’re enabling operators in the renewables and offshore survey sectors to interpret complex datasets more efficiently and make better-informed decisions in challenging marine environments.”

Ocean Geophysics currently provides in-house eBOSS data processing for clients, and a commercial release of the software is scheduled for early 2026, allowing survey teams worldwide to process and interpret their own eBOSS data. In-house processing services will still be available for Ocean Geophysics clients who require integrating multiple datasets and specialised interpretation.

Rick Babicz, Director at EdgeTech, said, “EdgeTech has always been at the forefront of subsea technology. The addition of Ocean Geophysics’ software provides eBOSS users with a complete solution, combining cutting-edge hardware with tailored processing tools that maximise the system’s impact in the field.”
