Asset integrity specialist awarded £1.2 million contract

Paul Boughton

Add Energy Asset and Integrity Management has secured a contract from Stena Drilling worth £1.2m. The company has been commissioned to prepare a full maintenance build for a new semi-submersible.

The full maintenance build contract is for a new Stena Drilling semi-submersible that will be built by Samsung Heavy Industries. Add Energy will provide consultancy to ensure that the new vessel is fully Norsok-compliant, in particular ensuring the maintenance build is compliant to Norsok Z-008 risk-based maintenance and consequence classification. The maintenance build must also meet ISO 14224, which provides a basis of a standard format for the collection of reliability and maintenance data that facilitates streamlined planned maintenance between plants, owners, manufacturers and contractors. There will be two phases to the project: FEED and development. The work mandate includes equipment classification, asset register build, library of strategies, reliability centred maintenance (RCM) analysis and a consequence classification study.

Peter Adam, executive vice president of Add Energy commented, “We have worked very closely with Stena Drilling for seven years and have an excellent track record of providing maintenance strategy and integrity execution for the company. We have worked previously on seven of Stena Drilling’s vessels. Having an in-depth understanding of the requirements of clients working to Norsok standards is key to our success in this field. We are delighted to be continuing our work with Stena on such an important project.”
