Sustainable innovator and key player in the underground mining sector

Aramine, founded in 1975, is a French family business specialising in the design, manufacture and distribution of underground mining equipment. With strong roots in the mining industry, Aramine stands out for its innovation, quality and commitment to sustainability and safety. Headquartered in Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France, its influence extends internationally through a global network of partners and customers.

Founded by Jacques and Angèle Melkonian, the company was taken over 30 years ago by their three children, Geneviève, Marc and Christophe Melkonian, current CEOs of Aramine.

Aramine offers a complete range of products and services tailored to the requirements of the mining sector:

  • Mining Equipment: Aramine designs high-performance equipment, including loaders, drills and trucks - a complete range for small to medium-sized underground mine sections. These machines are designed to operate in harsh environments, guaranteeing robustness and efficiency. In particular, Aramine has distinguished itself in the design of battery-powered electric machines, considerably reducing CO2 emissions in the mine.
  • Spare parts: The company maintains a stock of more than 1,500,000 references of spare parts for a wide variety of mining machines. This ready availability minimises equipment downtime and maximises the productivity of mining operations.
  • Service: Aramine offers a high-quality after-sales service, including preventive maintenance, repairs and operator training. The company has specialised technicians capable of intervening quickly on site, ensuring reliable and efficient technical support.
  • Distribution: Thanks to its expertise and long-standing presence in certain countries, Aramine has teamed up with several mining equipment suppliers (Normet, Astec, HBM NOBAS and Atlas Copco) and distributes their products in authorised areas.

Innovation is at the heart of Aramine's strategy. The company continually invests in research and development to design state-of-the-art products. Its efforts are focused on improving operator safety, optimising machine performance and reducing the environmental footprint of mining activities.

Aware of the environmental and social challenges of our time, Aramine has made Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) a core part of its strategy. This policy translates into concrete commitments in terms of sustainability, ethics, employee well-being and support for local communities.

Some of the actions carried out by Aramine:

  • Reducing the carbon footprint: Aramine develops and markets battery-powered mining machinery to replace traditional diesel equipment. This reduces CO2 emissions and limits the environmental impact of mining operations. Its engineers are also thinking about the second life of batteries to extend their lifespan. To facilitate the delivery of electricity to mining sites, which are often isolated, Aramine offers the installation of a solar station that provides access to electricity to recharge batteries of its L140B battery-powered loader.
  • Remanufacturing program: Long before environmental concerns began shaking up the mining sector, Aramine has developed a complete process for reconditioning spare parts and even complete machines. This gives them a second life, with original performance, thanks to the expertise of its technicians.

In line with its long-standing commitment to a more responsible mining sector, Aramine will continue to innovate and expand its range of products and services to customers worldwide.
