SKM bolsters mine closure team

Leading projects firm, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) has appointed Michael McLeary as Executive Project Manager – Mine Asset Planning.

Michael has extensive experience and knowledge in the mining and exploration fields, predominantly in the areas of mine closure and remediation, environment and safety.

For the past decade, Michael has worked in the Mines Departments with both the Queensland and South Australian State Governments and, prior to that spent about 10 years in the exploration industry with Rio Tinto and CRA Exploration Pty Ltd.

In more recent times, Michael has played a key role in developing a strategic approach to managing risks associated with South Australia’s legacy mines.
