Porvair Filtration Group, specialists in filtration and separation design and manufacture, has signed a $10-15 million agreement with Posco E&C, to supply char filtration equipment to Posco’s Gwangyang facility, South Korea.

Posco E&C, a division of Posco, a multi-national steel manufacturer, is building a coal gasification plant to produce synthetic natural gas (SNG) for powering its Gwangyang facility. The plant will incorporate Porvair’s hot gas (above 300˚C) filtration system, an established technology with over 10 years in service, used to remove fly ash during the gasification process.

Tom Liddell, Managing Director of Porvair Filtration Group commented: "This agreement strengthens Porvair’s reputation in the gasification market and further demonstrates our expertise in hot gas filtration. We are delighted to be Posco E&C’s preferred supplier for future SNG facilities."

Porvair is a leader in gasification to enable the production of synthetic natural gas (syngas or biogas) with products encompassing a range of high temperature filter elements, pulse jet blowdown systems and cyclones.
