Explosion proof LED light

Paul Boughton
Larson Electronics' Magnalight's explosion proof LED light fixture has UL certification and a Class 1 Division 1 and 2 & Class 2 Division 1 & 2 explosion proof rating. This four foot long, four lamp LED light fixture replaces traditional fluorescent equipped fixtures and provides more light with less power consumption and enhanced durability as well as better contrast and good colour rendering.

The EPL-48-4L-LED light fixture from Magnalight is suitable for applications such as petrochemical processing, offshore marine operations, paint spray booths, and anywhere a fully compliant, powerful and durable explosion proof lighting solution is needed.

A corrosion resistant housing constructed of copper free aluminum alloy, and four LED lamps enclosed within impact and heat resistant Pyrex tubes, these fixtures are highly durable and easily withstand the rigors of marine and industrial applications.

The included LED lamps offer more light than comparable T5HO fluorescent lamps, yet use half as much electrical energy and are highly resistant to damage from vibrations of impacts. By using LED tubes instead of fluorescent bulbs, Magnalight is able to do away with the ballast usually required with fluorescent lamps, thereby reducing fixture weight and the occurrence of maintenance issues.

A surface mount bracket (Unistrut mounting bracket) is standard equipment with these lights.  The design of these LED fixtures allows it to be operated with voltages ranging from 120 VAC to 277 VAC for added versatility and use with a variety of power options. Magnalight also offers low voltage configurations that allow operation with 12-24 Volt DC current if desired. These LED light fixtures are Class 1 Division 1 & 2 Class 2 Division 1 & 2 approved and certified for use in paint spray booths. They have a T6 temperature rating and the LED lamps are rated at 50,000 hours of operational life. Screw on end caps with O-ring seals simplify maintenance and re-lamping while corrosion resistant materials and finish, LED lamps, and impact resistant Pyrex tube enclosures, produce a light fixture that offers across the board improvements in efficiency, durability, and operational costs as compared to traditional forms of explosion proof fluorescent fixtures.

"As of now, our entire line of UL certified explosion proof, paint spray booth LED lights is available in four foot and two foot lengths," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "The new EPL-48-4L-LED four foot, four lamp UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1 LED light also carries a paint spray booth certification with a T6 rating.  This light is ideal for manufacturing lines, paint spray booths, oil rigs and shipyards."
