User-friendly hydraulic and pneumatic torque wrenches

Tentec is launching a new series of hydraulic and pneumatic torque wrenches to complement its existing range of bolt tightening products. Three new torque wrench ranges are being introduced; the SD, CD and PN series have been developed for engineers worldwide who require robust, easy-to-use and accurate tools for the vast range of torque applications throughout industry.

The innovative SD Series comprises square-drive conventional hydraulic torque wrenches. With torque output ranging from 1722Nm (1270ftlbs) to an impressive 78,625Nm (580,000ftlbs), the one-piece body housing also offers rigidity, strength and robustness in a surprisingly lightweight form.

Not only is the SD Series a powerful wrench, but it also offers refined features that make it convenient and easy to use. Among the many features are full 360 x 360-degree swivel connections and a pressure/torque chart that is laser etched onto the nose of the tool.

For fasteners where access is restricted, the low-profile, direct-drive CD-series of hydraulic torque wrenches benefit from an ultra-slim profile of the 'same width' cassette and cylinder assembly by incorporating a new non-circular drive piston. The interchangeable cassettes allow for a rapid and easy swap out from one hex size to another; because the cassette is attached to the cylinder by means of a single high-strength locking pin, no special tools are required. The use of interchangeable cassettes makes the CD series wrench very versatile, with one cylinder being able to torque many different sized hexagon nuts. Both the cylinder and cassette are manufactured from high-grade, high-strength aircraft alloy, giving the CD series excellent reliability.

The PN series of pneumatic torque wrenches completes the new range from Tentec. These provide continuous and repeatable torque with an accuracy of +/-5 per cent. Unlike previous pneumatic torque wrenches, the PN series is said to have the fastest speed when it counts, which is during the actual torque stage and not during the free nut run-down stage. Common in all PN Series wrenches is a new gear technology that delivers greater durability, lower operational temperatures and increased efficiency. The PN series offer a torque output from 162Nm (120ftlbs) to 8134Nm (6000ftlbs) and rotational speeds of up to 45rpm.

Tentec also offers compatible electric and air-driven pump units to power the new torque ranges, as well as a free bolt tightening software package that integrates with the company's torque and tension products.
