Adaptive Network Solutions announced at the 4th European Zigbee Developers' Conference in Munich, Germany, that its 868MHz IEEE802.15.4/Zigbee RF module, the @ANY900-1, has achieved CE certification. This is claimed to be the first Sub-1GHz Zigbee module to achieve such certification, which paves the way for a Europe-wide adoption of standards-based wireless sensor networks in energy management, building and industrial automation, as well as other application areas.

Thomas Lerm, president and CEO of Adaptive Network Solutions, states: "We are proud to be the first to CE certify a Sub-1GHz 802.15.4/Zigbee RF module. This opens a door to a wide-scale adoption of wireless standards, such as Zigbee and 6LoWPAN, across the industries in Europe. OEMs can now use our @ANY900-1 certified platform to accelerate creation of standards-based products. Interchangeable design of different @ANY hardware components further simplifies the product development and enables scalability."

Christian Keding, managing director of Eurofins Product Service, adds: "We are pleased to perform the formal testing and certification of the @ANY900-1 RF module. Eurofins' years of expertise and state-of-the-art equipment ensure accurate and reliable results. We are happy to assist manufacturers such as Adaptive Network Solutions that help transforming the industry with an efficient wireless technology."

@ANY900-1 is an ultra-low-power IEEE802.15.4/Zigbee RF module for the Sub-1GHz ISM band. The tiny module features an exceptional sensitivity of -110dBm that results in a line-of-sight range of up to 500m. Featuring the built-in chip antenna and 2MBit memory extensions, the @ANY900 module presents is future-proof, fully integrated device for system integrators and OEMs. @ANY900-1 RF modules are fully pin-compatible with other @ANY Sub-1GHz and 2.4GHz hardware products, and interoperable with corresponding Atmel's Zigbit modules.

@ANY900-1 RF modules are available directly and via distributors. Development kits are available and priced at EUR399.00, with each kit containing three @ANY900-1-based brick development boards, a USB dongle and a JTAG programming adaptor, as well as a software and documentation CD-ROM. All products are manufactured in Germany.
