Entry-level vertical form seal flow wrapper

Ulma Packaging has introduced the Olympus entry-level vertical form fill seal (VFFS) flow- wrapper.

The medium-speed machine offers significant cost benefits and has been specially designed for food and other industrial bagging applications where simplicity, reliability and easy of operation are key requirements. 

Launched by Ulma as the low cost unit in a brand new range of VFFS systems, the versatile Olympus is capable of wrapping salads, vegetables, fruit, liquids, pastes, granules, snacks and frozen or chilled products, in a variety of high quality display packs. For maximum on-shelf impact, a variety of bag options are available including pillow, euro-lock, handle, and corner gusset, as well as stand up flat bottom with centre or corner vertical seal, or clip.

Available with a wide range of product depositing systems, the new machine is perfect for medium volume food applications and depending on the item being handled, can operate at speeds up to 70 packs per minute. Easy to set up, operate, clean and maintain, the Olympus offers a compact footprint, robust frame design and is mechanically very reliable.

A five-inch colour touch screen control panel with integral industrial PC makes setting up new products and day-to-day operation both simple and intuitive. It nallows various parameters to be adjusted and saved plus real time reporting and diagnostics keep production personnel informed and down time to an absolute minimum.

The machine can utilise a variety of sealable films – for example, LDPE, MOPP, PP, Cast, BOPP, and complex laminate. Optional extras include vacuum table for film splicing to facilitate quick roll changes; printed film registration system; gas injection for modified atmosphere packaging; vacuum belt film feed systems; special jaws for high speed PE film applications, and automatic self centring film roll.
