LEDs now RoHS compliant

Philips Lumileds Lighting Company gas announced the release of red, red-orange and amber SuperFlux LEDs that are fully compliant with the EU RoHS (Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances) Directive that comes in to force across Europe from 1 July 2006.

The availability of these parts will enable automotive manufacturers and other SuperFlux users to meet the new environmental standards.

Each of the new SuperFlux lead-free products has a unique part number and features the same form factor, performance and pricing with full backward compatibility

New wave-solder profiles must be observed as shown in data sheet DS55 posted at the company's web site. All previous SuperFlux parts remain available to the worldwide market.
