FAG, a brand of the Schaeffler Group is exhibiting at InnoTrans Trade Fair, Berlin, Germany, between 21st - 24th September, 2004.

Exhibits will include wheelset bearings and housings for the driverless two-car units of VAG Nuremberg (manufacturer: Siemens) to be placed in service at the beginning of 2006. They are equipped with double-row cylindrical roller bearings that are lubricated for life and mounted in split housings of special weight-reduced casting material.
Autorail Grande Capacite, the new comfortable regional trains of SNCF that achieve speeds of up to 160km/h (manufacturer: Bombardier Transportation), are fitted with ready-to-mount tapered roller bearings with housings of nodular graphite cast iron. These were optimised by applying Finite Element Methods and structural tests.
Approved in accordance with EN12082 in test rig inspections of 600000km, the maintenance intervals are set at1 million km. The VAL208 metro vehicle (manufacturer: Siemens Transportation) is equipped with INA slewing bearings acting as anti-rolling device.
The damping elements integrated in the bearings secure lower wear than conventional solutions with unchanged maintenance intervals. m
