Testing turbo transmission

Renk Test System GmbH has designed a new test rig inco-operation with German Railways DB Regio AG for use at its facility in Bremen.

The test bench will be used initially to overhaul the turbo transmission on diesel locos.
The transmissions can be mounted on especially designed pallets before start of the test procedure and this increases the operational availability of the test rig. The load unit is mounted on a movable frame actuated by a servo electric drive in order to adapt the test rig to different test specimen dimensions. The load and drive unit each consist of awater-cooled ac motor, torque-measuring flange and a drive shaft for connection to test specimen.
The system is supplied with the Renk Dynamic Data System (Windows XPTM-based) that enables manual and automatic test cycles to be generated by a host computer. m
