A consortium of Siemens Transportation Systems and Kiepe Elektrik has recently been asked to supply 40 Combino low-floor tramcars to the Budapest transit authority in a contract that is worth about E150million. The increased interest in maglev and the number of systems either proposed or being built will add to the industry's confidence and fund of knowledge so it can improve on existing designs and further increase the popularity of this type of transport.
