Containerised air compressors
Atlas Copco’s new TwinAir range of containerised air compressors offer the highest volume of air flow at up to 1058l/s (2232cfm). The compressors also provide the smallest footprints at 12bar and 25bar pressure for the oil and gas industries with versions for offshore applications. The new TwinAir range features two operationally independent compressors with interconnected air manifolds housed within a standard 20ft ISO container to provide a robust, energy efficient and safety enhanced air supply at medium and high pressure. The Atlas Copco model XAH1066 (XAH2250CD6) is designed to deliver a total actual free air delivery (f a d) of 1058l/s (2232cfm) at a working pressure of 12bar (175psi). The XRV946 (XRV2000CD6) delivers a f a d of 936l/s (1975cfm) at a working pressure of 25bar (365psi). Housed within a standard ISO container ensures fast installation and minimised set up times. CSC approval means that the unit is easily and legally transportable as container cargo resulting in reduced transportation costs. The containerised unit also features fork lift slots and lifting eyes with slings rated to 150000lbs for ease of mobility on-site and loading. TwinAir also provides excellent stackability during storage or if space is a premium with up to eight offshore units being stacked. Two versions of the new range are available including a standard build for specialised drilling- and pipeline-related applications. An offshore version is also available meeting all the necessary certifications. The company says that both versions are suited, for example, to flaring duties by accelerating the flow of compressed air at well heads to burn excess gases in a controlled manner. Atlas Copco is based Aartselaar, Belgium. www.atlascopco.com |
