Electronic engine for Zone 2 Operation

Volvo Pena’s has introduced the D12 Electronic Engine for Zone 2 Operation.

This engine series 300 to 500HP is now ATEX Certified to satisfy the demands of the European Market with the same series soon to be ATEX approved with 650HP to operate in the higher Ambients of Asia and the Middle East.

The D12 Engine now replaces the TAMD165A Mechanical Engine but Volvo Penta continue to offer a Mechanical Engine in the form of their ATEX Certified D7 Series with Power Outputs up to 265HP.

The ATEX Certification on these engines has been carried out with the assistance of Pyroban Ltd, a leading company in Hazard Protection.
