8th NEVA International Exhibition Conference
Leaders of Russia's Offshore Energy, Shipping and Ports industries will meet again in September for the 8th NEVA International Exhibition Conference & Seminar Programme in St Petersburg. Industrialists and senior engineers from 40 countries will review developments within Russia.
The Russian government anticipates that during the next 10 to 15 years Russian oil and gas extraction will become increasingly reliant on offshore deposits.
The main deposits lie within the Barents Sea and the Karsk, Okmotsk Seas (Sakhalin) and the Caspian Sea.
Murmansk Shipping Company, controlled by Lukoil, plans to build a new oil terminal on Kola Bay which would accommodate the largest tankers with ultimate throughput estimated at 7milliontonnes annually. This development forms part of the government programme produced by the Ministry of Natural Resources. LNG development is included as Gazprom seeks to exploit the new Shtokman field in the Arctic.
Statoil of Norway is already involved in the possible construction of an LNG plant.
Fir the first time NEVA is introducing the OGO -- Oil, Gas & the Ocean sector focusing on:
* Geophysical technologies and equipment for offshore exploration and extraction of mineral resources.
* Geophysical technologies and equipment during the design phase and operational phase for drilling platforms, oil and gas pipelines.
* Technologies and equipment for port design, construction and the reconstruction of sea and river installations.
* Safety, security and environmental issues.
