Hazardous area power pack fitted with protection system

Volvo Penta has introduced a new version of its hazardous area power pack.

This unit now comprises of Electronic Engine type D12 with Power Range from 300HP through to 700HP. The engine type is a 12 litre, six cylinder in-line, turbocharged, marine diesel.

The Power Packs are fitted out with a Pyroban 3GP Protection System for use in the oil and gas industry Category 3G (Zone2) T3 IIA ATEX Certified (94/9/EC).

A number of units, which are suitable for nitrogen pumps, fire pumps, coiled tubing units, etc, have already been sold.
