High temperature calibrator
Techne has added a high-temperature model with particularly accurate and repeatable performance up to 1200°C to its range of portable thermal calibrators. The Tecal1200 is a dry-block calibrator designed to provide very accurate thermal calibration between 150°C and 1200°C for a wide variety of thermocouples and other temperature sensors on site and in the laboratory. The heating system consists of elements embedded in ceramic fibre mouldings, which allows faster heating rates than other designs and extends the working life. The isothermal block is machined from a special incolloy alloy that gives excellent thermal conductivity and resists high-temperature oxidation. The block is supported by a ceramic tube to ensure equal temperature distribution. The four 8mm-diameter test holes in the block are 110mm deep, which is deeper than alternative equipment and ensures particularly accurate, uniform and repeatable performance.
