Centrifugal apple press

Fruit juice company, James White Drinks, has invested a six figure sum to become the first UK company to commission a Westphalia Separator - an innovative fruit pressing machine that produces a more consistent juice ‘cloudiness’ and a lighter fresher looking juice colour.

The new press has been installed at Whites Fruit Farm, Ashbocking in Suffolk where the James White range of juices are all bottled.

The press, a first for the UK, sets itself apart by spinning the juice out of the apple like a giant centrifuge. Normal methods of pressing in the UK 'squash' the juice out the fruit. The James White range of cloudy organic juices will particularly benefit from this new method of pressing. The spinning method is also more efficient for pressing other fruits such as blackberries, vegetables such as carrots and additionally root ginger.
