Rotary sensor sealed to IP68

Penny + Giles has achieved an IP68 sealed rating for its SRS280 rotary sensor, enabling operation in harsh environments. The rugged sensor, which is used for reliable position measurement in industrial applications – such as valve position monitoring – is now totally protected against the ingress of water, dust and dirt.

The SRS280 rotary sensor uses Penny + Giles’ hybrid potentiometer technology, providing high stability under extremes of temperature and humidity, with virtually infinite resolution and a life in excess of 50 million operations. It offers features that are claimed to overcome the shortcomings of competitive products. Penny + Giles says the SRS280 was the first rotary sensor of its kind to offer a range of 35 different models with angles from 10 to 350 degrees.
