Wave a wand for the perfect pick-up
Vacuum tools for the safe, precise handling of electronic components, fibre-optics, silicon wafers and die, lenses and many other small parts, from Windrush Technology Ltd, are known as 'wands'.
They are often the only acceptable method of manual handling and can save assembly time in many cases.
Their use can also lead to further benefits, such as reduced failure rate, safety and cleanliness, and their simplicity of use means less operator fatigue. Wands are assembled by Windrush Technology Ltd, built to class 1 clean-room standards and are available in ESD-safe plastic or Teflon.
A patented push-button valve ensures reliable suction and instantaneous release; operation is either normally open (press to release) or normally closed (press to pick up).
Wand tips are available in three styles: nozzle, cup and slit tip. Nozzles are generally used for handling the smallest components, including SMD devices and die. Diameters are from 0.1mm to 2.5mm and materials include PTFE, PEEK, conductive PEEK and stainless steel. Cups can be used for larger devices and components, and diameters from 2.5mm to 30mm are available, allowing the largest devices to be securely and precisely handled.
