Fig. 1. Combination of light weight (plastic) and strength (steel): Lightweight steel cable carriers, Type LS1050

Lightweight steel cable carriers

The cable carriers market today is dominated by plastic cable carriers. However, plastic chains reach their limits when the mechanical or thermal loads get too large.

In addition to the robust steel cable carriers which have been successfully established for decades, Kabelschhlepp now also offers a particularly lightweight steel chain for precisely this type of application.

Kabelschhlepp GmbH has introduced a new generation of steel chains under the designations LS1050 (steel) and LSX1050 (stainless steel) which combine the light weight of plastic with the strength of steel. This has been made possible thanks to a consistently weight-optimised design which are roughly 40percent lighter than before. High additional loads, greater acceleration and travel speeds are now possible with greater unsupported lengths. The tried and tested stay variants ‘frame stay’ and ‘reinforced frame stay’ can also be used in conjunction with the new lightweight steel chains.

A wide range of separation options with dividers and height subdivisions is available. n
