Handles and hinges for clean room environments
WDS' new range of tough handles and hinges provides OEMs across all industries with ideal opening solutions for doors, lids, cabinets, machinery and mobile equipment.
A broad range of materials including anodised aluminium, stainless steel and reinforced plastic ensures that there is a suitable option for virtually every application environment.
By removing small order surcharges WDS has ensured that maintenance engineers and manufacturers producing short runs of machines are not penalised on price. Designers also gain maximum benefit from the complete range being available in 2D dxf drawings, simplifying both the design and integration process.
Handle designs include standard, loop, strap, collapsible, ledge and hinged models, that offer customers the ability to optimise designs in terms of space, ease of operation and aesthetics.
For tough frequent wash-down and sterile applications such as those found in the medical and food industries, WDS has included a range of stainless and matt chrome plated steel handles. Lightweight anodised aluminium, Bakelite or glass fibre reinforced plastic handles offer added levels of chemical resistance, but are more suited to lightweight mobile equipment and applications where cost is a significant factor.
A range of five different designs of glass reinforced hinges with steel pins has also been included in the range, ideal for designers looking to maintain functionality but reduce the cost of products and ensure tough but lightweight operation.
Detachable and non-detachable die cast zinc hinges are also included which, due to their tough black powder coating, can provide a more economic alternative to stainless steel types.
Featured in its 2004 Machine Accessories catalogue and available on CD Rom Cadalogue, the new range of handles and hinges has been carefully chosen to provide a low-cost and speedy solution for production line, workshop and workplace applications. 2D dxf drawings of all handles and hinges are now available to designers, helping reduce the time-to-market for products and equipment. OEM manufacturers can benefit from significant bulk order discounts while WDS have helped customers with maintenance and short run orders to reduce costs by scrapping small order charges.
WDS' new suite of catalogues provides technical details for over 10000 standard parts and items of production equipment, from machined profiles and pneumatic components to threaded fittings, clamps and fasteners. The latest printed catalogue is also available on-line.
