Dry vacuum pumps generate no effluent or contamination
Many governments are increasing the use of biofuels, especially biodiesel and bioethanol. Biofuels are said to be more environmentally-friendly, renewable and reduce the dependency on imported fossil fuels. Biofuels are oleochemicals – chemicals derived from agricultural oils and fats. The oleochemical industry is similar to the petrochemical industry with many vacuum applications such as deodorisation, distillation and evaporation. BOC Edwards’ vacuum technologies include liquid ring vacuum pumps, steam ejectors and pioneering the development and use of dry vacuum pumps. The main benefits of dry vacuum pumps are no effluent generation, no contamination, high reliability, high vacuum and lower cost of ownership. BOC Edwards’ third generation double-ended dry screw technology, the CDX1000, complements its reverse claw dry pump technology. BOC Edwards is based Crawley, West Sussex, UK. www.boc.com |
