Vertical float switches now available with M12 connectors and cables

Stainless steel and plastic vertical float switches from Cynergy3 Components are now available with industry standard M12 round 4-pin connectors and cables, providing customers with quick-connection, plug-in switches for controlling the filling and emptying of process/liquid storage tanks.

The new M12 cable set series includes a 4-pole M12 connector manufactured to IEC61076-2-101 standards. Protected to IP67, the LC cable series is available in either straight or elbow type body, in a choice of PVC or PUR/PVC sheath insulated cables, in lengths of 2, 5 or 10 metres.

The first series of switches to benefit from the new M12 connectors is the RSF66P series of PPS (Polyphenylene Sulphide) vertical float switches. These water-industry (WRAS) approved high and low level switching devices are suitable for controlling the filling and emptying of a range of liquids in process storage tanks and other similar vessels.

The RSF66P series is designed to offer a number of switching options to meet a variety of system requirements. Manufactured in PPS, the switches are compatible with a wide range of process liquids and are available in single and double float versions. The single float type is generally used in systems with PLC control of processes. The dual float versions are typically used for controlling the filling and emptying of storage tanks via electromechanical relays. The switches are certified to operate in temperatures from -10°C to 85°C.

The second series of switches to benefit from new M12 round 4-pin connections is the SSF67PM12 Series of stainless steel 316L vertical float switches. Available in single or dual switching levels, these switches are suitable for use in many aggressive liquids or hygienic applications, including food and beverage processing, medical and healthcare, and general process engineering.

The single float version provides high (make on rise) and low (make on fall) level indications for alarms and control systems. The dual float versions provide either make on rise for both high and low levels (used for tank emptying control) or make on fall for both high and low levels (used for tank filling control). The SSF67 series switches are screw mounted vertically via M16x2 thread and so require access to the inside of the tank. Maximum operating temperature is 135°C.
