Valve control product portfolio expands

Paul Boughton

AUMA, the electric actuator manufacturer, has expanded its portfolio of modular valve control devices with a new range of GP coaxial gearboxes. The gearboxes are designed for gate and globe valve operation as well as part-turn applications, such as butterfly and ball valves.

The new gearboxes support manual valve operation or automated valve operation via an actuator mounted with an adapter flange. A compact design is at the heart of the development, providing an optimum centre of gravity that contributes significantly to reduction of static and dynamic forces to the valve. Radial force impact to the valve is avoided with a coaxial design allowing centred gearbox mounting onto the valve flange.

The gearboxes are available in four sizes, each with three reduction ratios: a torque range between 100 to 2,500 Newton metres is offered. Reduction ratios are implemented by planetary gearings ranging from 2.4:1 to 16:1.
