Steel enclosures range for high impact applications

Spelsberg UK has launched a range of steel enclosures to support its comprehensive product portfolio. The company, which is known for supplying some of the best quality enclosures on the market, has made the addition to its range to support its customers who work in extremely harsh environments where there may be a risk of heavy impact, explosion or contact with corrosive chemicals.

Chris Lloyd, Spelsberg UK Managing Director, explains: “In most scenarios, even in heavy industry, non-metallic enclosures are the preferred solution. They are lighter, easier to work with, generally more price competitive and - when you specify GPR - almost as strong; at the same time they aren’t prone to corrosion or denting and are far less vulnerable to potential theft. However, in the harshest of environments, there’s no denying the protective capabilities of steel.

“We’ve added a selection of mild steel and stainless steel enclosures to our catalogue to offer design and installation engineers who operate in these conditions the same level of choice that all of our other customers already enjoy.”

The mild steel enclosures are available in more than 40 dimensions, all of which are designed to be easily wall mounted. The enclosures are protected to IP66 and supplied with a mounting plate and gland plate as standard. The doors benefit from reversible hinging, for flexible operation, and offer secure locking mechanisms with transparent window pane options available. The enclosures are durable and cost effective with protection from corrosion thanks to a robust RAL7035 paint finish.

For a high level of corrosion protection, the stainless steel enclosures grant maximum performance and functionality. There are 28 standard sizes available with a selection of plain and glazed doors to meet all needs. The enclosures are supplied with a protective film which eliminates scratches and markings during installation. The enclosures are IP66 rated with Nema 4x (single door) or Nema 12 (double or plexi door) protection. The doors are ‘corner formed’ to prevent water pooling or dirt build up and a mounting plate is supplied with all standard enclosures.
