Semiconducters expert establishes subsidiary in India

Renesas Electronics Corporation has announced the opening of Renesas Electronics India Pvt. Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renesas Electronics Singapore Pte. Ltd., located in Bangalore, India. Guests from the Embassy of Japan in India, company representatives from Japan and Singapore, as well as customers and industry partners attended the opening ceremony held in Bangalore, India on April 16, 2014.

Since 2010, Renesas has been carrying out its business promotion activities and providing technical product support to its customers in India via its branch offices in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. As part of its expansion plan, Renesas is converting its India branch offices to a full subsidiary. Renesas can now expand its operations to other cities in India, as well as engage in a wider range of business activities. Customers can expect a higher level of engagement and services delivered closer to their regional offices throughout India.

By providing dedicated local support via the new company, and with a focus on industrial and automotive applications, Renesas aims to increase its microcontroller (MCU) share in India and expand its solution offerings with a rich lineup of kit solutions and reference boards to speed customer time to market.

We aim to expand our global sales by providing the best solution offerings and technical product support, as well as a regional systems solution development expertise to the Indian market.”

Renesas has launched a series of 8/16-bit general-purpose microcontrollers (MCUs) dedicated to emerging markets including, India. In addition to these MCU products, Renesas Electronics India will be growing the number of kit solutions combining MCUs with Analog & Power devices and reference boards for automotive, consumer and industrial appliances to give its customers a shorter time-to-market.
