Global water, maintenance and energy solutions provider NCH Europe has introduced its Screen Clean powder that will be a welcome relief to space restricted automotive and fleet vehicle workshops everywhere. The product offers a highly effective and environmentally friendly screen cleaning solution from an easy to store sachet.
The new Screen Clean powder offers the same quality cleaning performance as NCH Europe’s popular Screen Clean tablets. However, the powder is available in either 20L or 200L sachets, four times as much solution compared to tablet form, making it the ideal answer for organisations and businesses with larger applications or storage space constraints, such as large commercial vehicle and public transport fleets.
Screen Clean powder boasts a concentrated formula, which provides a cleaner overall result even in hard water areas. The compact powder form means that these results are achieved with less solution per use than standard liquid screen cleaners, saving money in the long run.
“The unique make-up of the Screen Clean powder has wide reaching environmental benefits,” explained Mark Burnett, VP of the Lubricants and Fuel Additives Innovation Platform at NCH Europe. “As it does not rely on an alcohol base less toxic materials make their way back into our sewers and water supplies in run off. As well as being fully biodegradable and containing no toxic ingredients, using Screen Clean powder reduces environmental impact, as there is no need to ship water or dispose of plastic bottles. Not only does this make Screen Clean lighter, and therefore suitable for use on-the-go, it also results in a typical saving of almost 40g of plastic per pack compared to liquid screen cleaners.
“However, being environmentally friendly doesn’t mean sacrificing product effectiveness. In this case, the reduced packaging and increased pound-for-pound product efficiency means we can offer a solution that makes economical as well as environmental sense.
“If the 35 million licensed vehicles in the UK used a single sachet of Screen Clean powder a year, it would save 1,400,000kg of plastic annually. That plastic creates over seven million kilos (7668 metric tonnes) of carbon dioxide, which is more than the UK’s carbon budget from 2013 to 2027.”
The unique additive composition of Screen Clean powder ensures that the product is capable of providing maximum protection to as low as -5 degrees Celsius. For temperatures below this NCH recommends Arctic Action, a sister product that blends Screen Clean technology with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to provide protection down to -20 degrees.
Traditional alcohol-based products typically provide maximum efficiency in freezing conditions, but provide little to no advantage for the remainder of the year. NCH Europe’s product also produces a refreshing lemon scent rather than the sharp notes associated with an alcohol-based product.
With the EU aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 15 percent below 1990 levels by 2020, the environmental benefit of Screen Clean powder will help support automotive businesses looking to shrink their carbon footprint, as well as improving efficiency and saving money. The pleasant scent is just a bonus.
