RF coupler transfers video, images and music at up to 375MBits/sec

Antenova Ltd is launching an entirely new coupler solution using TransferJet wireless technology for the very high speed data transfer of large files.

TransferJet is a new, close-proximity wireless transfer standard, recently created in Japan, that provides a simple way to transfer large data files such as photos, videos and music, between mobile devices, at data rates as high as 375Mbits/sec, simply by placing the devices close together. It has the advantage of operating in unlicenced bands in the USA, Japan, Korea and EU countries.

Antenova’s TransferJet solution uses a brand new SMD coupler, named Zoma, (Antenova’s part number SR4TO14), which the company has developed to be an RF Coupler for TransferJet. The new coupler operates in the 4.48GHz band, and transfers data over distances up to 30mm.

Antenova has chosen to work with a TransferJet development platform from a partner company, Icoteq, and visitors to CTIA Supermobility will be able to see this operating with the new Zoma antenna. Icoteq’s hardware uses Freescale’s iMX6 quad core processor, comes with a variety of hardware interfaces, and measures just 100mm x 100mm.
