Push button quick release pin

Louise Davis

Push button quick release pins have been added to the range of engineering pins and dowels offered by WDS Component Parts Ltd.

Pins and dowels are used to position and hold components across the whole spectrum of assembly, manufacturing and other engineering operations.

Just as with all pins available from WDS, the new push button quick release pins are precision made to exact dimensions.

The new pins have a spring-loaded axial push button which is used to release locating and locking lugs that hold the pin in place during normal use, so that they can be easily removed.

They are made with a stainless-steel shaft, with the head or handle and push button both made of aluminium.

To ensure the button is visible, it is blue anodised so that it contrasts with the black of the head.

The composition of these mean that the pins are not subject to corrosion, making them suitable for use in environments that are wet, salt-laden or chemically aggressive.

They can therefore be used in applications such as food manufacturing and other industries requiring hygienic operation or subject to regular washdowns, marine, shoreside and offshore, medical equipment, water treatment works, outdoor equipment, etc.

WDS can offer its push button quick release pins in a range of 17 sizes. There are three pin diameters, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm; pin lengths of 25mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, and 70mm, with the head length varying from 23mm for the smaller pins to 28mm for the longer ones. Their weight ranges from 15gm to 65gm.
