Lucy Switchgear has unveiled a Package Substation and 36kV Ring Main Unit at the recent Sustainability Live’s NEMEX event. The new products provide solutions in medium voltage distribution applications.
Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs) are increasingly undertaking a greater number of contestable connections and are seeking single source solutions to reduce administration and installation time. The new Lucy Switchgear Package Substation is designed to meet this need.
Comprising a Sabre Ring Main Unit, AcuLok distribution cabinet and a fluid filled distribution transformer, the Package Substation has been developed in partnership with CG Power Solutions.
The substation is pre-assembled for quick and seamless installation providing a competitive ‘one-stop’ solution. Configurable for a wide range of power distribution and industrial applications, the Package Substation is fully warrantied, providing customers with complete peace of mind.
The 36kV Ring Main Unit, with 630 and 1250 Amp ratings, is designed to be cost efficient, maintenance-free and simple to install and operate. Suitable for use in a whole range of industries, its applications include power stations, wind farms, solar power plants, co-generation facilities and diesel power plants.
Designed for safe operation in the most demanding, medium voltage switchgear applications, its proven technology incorporates a number of additional safety features, including the option of fuse switches or vacuum interrupters for circuit breakers and a wide range of relays for vacuum circuit breaker modules.
A compact design, which is extensible and modular, ensures the Lucy Switchgear 36kV Ring Main Unit provides customers with options for the smallest spaces and its hermetically sealed, stainless steel switching chamber is suitable for use in all climates and environments, with indoor and outdoor versions available.
